Analysis by the Renewable Energy Policy Project has determined that of $150 billion in subsidies to the energy sector paid in the USA over the fifty of so years since 1943, 96.3 per cent has gone to the nuclear industry. According to the group, photovoltaic and solar thermal received $4.4 billion, wind $1.3 billion and hydropower support is estimated at $1.6 billion.
