The US Trade and Development Agency is to fund studies into the feasibility of constructing four transmission lines between Kamburu and Meru, Olkaria and Lessos to Kisumu. The Lanet and Naivasha substations are also in line to be upgraded. The new projects will help stabilise power supply in the western and Mount Kenya regions as well as improving security of supply to Nairobi.
