Vestas has secured a 1140 MW firm order from Baltic Power Sp. z o.o, a joint venture between ORLEN S.A. and Northland Power Inc, for the Baltic Power Offshore Wind Project in Poland.
Vestas will supply, install, and commission 76 V236-15.0 MW wind turbines for the project, and upon completion, will service the turbines under a 15-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) agreement designed to ensure optimised performance of the assets.
The project site is located 23 km off the coast of the Polish Baltic Sea shoreline, near Łeba. Delivery of the wind turbines is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2025, with commissioning expected for 2026.

Vestas has also secured a 960 MW firm order for its flagship offshore wind turbine V236-15.0 MW. The order includes 64 V236-15.0 MW wind turbines for the He Dreiht project located in the German waters of the North Sea. Vestas will also deliver a five-year Active Output Management 5000 service agreement followed by a long-term Operational Support Agreement. This firm order intake follows the announced preferred supplier agreement on 9 July 2021 and the conditional offer on 7 June 2022.
The project has a grid connection capacity of 900 MW and an excess capacity of 60 MW in order to use the connection capacity as efficiently as possible, even when production is lower.
Installation is planned to begin in the second quarter of 2025, and commissioning is scheduled for the fourth quarter of the same year.
In February 2021 the V236-15.0 unit was the first 15 MW WTG to be introduced to the market, with the installation of the prototype being completed in December 2022 when the turbine also successfully produced its first kWh of energy. The prototype is currently undergoing an extensive test and verification programme to ensure reliability before full type certification.
