Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas has received an order for 21 V90-3.0 MW wind turbines for stage 2 of the Burgos wind farm that is being developed by Energy Development Corporation (EDC) in Ilocos Norte in the Philippines.

The contract includes delivery, installation and commissioning of the wind turbines, associated civil and electrical works as well as a ten-year service contract.

Vestas said that delivery of the wind turbines would begin in the second quarter of 2014. Commissioning of the 87 MW project is also expected this year.

As well as the wind farm, the $300 million Burgos project includes a 115 kV transmission line connecting the wind farm from the Burgos substation to the Laoag substation of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP), as well as the expansion of the switchyard/substations.

In separate news Vestas announced it is to supply of 18 V112-3.3 MW wind turbines for the 59.4 MW Yeong Yang Wind Farm in South Korea, which is due to be commissioned in late 2015. The Yeong Yang contract also includes a ten-year full-scope service agreement.
