Expanding the national transmission network to accommodate increasing wind generation has had minimal impact on electricity prices, according to a draft study by the national energy agency Dena. An average German household would have to pay just 0.7-1.1 eurocents per year given that grid expansion will be smaller and more moderate than expected until after 2007. The German wind energy association (BWE) said that network operators will have to spend an additional annual average of Euro 115 million to accommodate wind up to 2015.
