In the single most successful year for new wind energy capacity in the UK over 120 MW of wind power projects have been confirmed for construction in 2002, representing a 25% increase from current generation capabilities. A further 750 MW will be submitted for planning over the next 12 months which, if approved, will set the industry well on the way to its declared intention to have 2005 MW of wind energy capacity in place by 2005.
